“This guy is still talking?”- Conor McGregor lashes into Khabib Nurmagomedov over ‘The Eagle’s recent Donald Cerrone and Jose Aldo comments

Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov

Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov have begun going at it with indirect attacks on the Internet. At a recent media day interaction with RT Sport Khabib Nurmagomedov claimed that McGregor looked like a lion while fighting opponents like Donald Cerrone but was scared “like a chicken” when he faced stronger opponents, which was a disrespect towards Cerrone as well.

He also claimed that he didn’t see Jose Aldo going on another successful run in the UFC. The former champion has been rolling back the years, and has been in top form of late. However, Khabib refused to acknowledge the same, adding that Aldo will be easily beaten if he faces Petr Yan once again.

On seeing this, an irate Conor McGregor took to Twitter to hit back at Khabib Nurmagomedov for disrespecting Cerrone and Aldo. He claimed that Khabib had ducked Cerrone throughout his career. He also went on to state that his late father couldn’t “believes his eyes when he beat Cerrone.”

McGregor’s Tweet read, “This guy is still talking? Another press conference? You shit your pants of Cerrone your whole career. You pulled 3 times from him. Your father, god rest his soul, could not believe his eyes the way I beat Cerrone. You disrespect Cerrone and now Aldo too? You ran away. Shut up.

McGregor is currently recovering from his ankle surgery which he underwent after suffering a broken ankle in the trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. He is also under medical suspension that would see him out for 6 months, meaning he wouldn’t be able to compete until the second week of January.

As for Khabib, he is currently busy with Eagle Fighting Championship (he is the owner), and his role as a coach. He also recently signed a professional football contract for the Russian third-tier club FC Legion Dynamo Makhachkala. However, his manager Ali Abdelaziz has denied the same, saying that it was false information. Only time will tell.
