Former UFC bantamweight champion, Cody Garbrandt will be making his flyweight debut against the rising prospect Kai Kara France at UFC 269 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Garbrandt lost his bantamweight title to T.J Dillashaw, and he’s struggling to get to the top ever since, he came back strong with a knockout win against Raphael Assuncao at UFC 250, then got dominated by Rob Font in a five rounded contest, he decided to move down to the flyweight after this loss, and Kai Kara France was more than willing to take on this challenge.

New Zealand’s knockout artist, Kai Kara is a force to be reckoned with, he is coming off from a knockout win against Rogerio Bontorin, and he is putting in the work to compete in the biggest fight of his career. France is very skilled on his feet, and if his recent fights have been any indications, then Cody is in for a treat.

France trains with the likes of UFC’s middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, UFC’s featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski, and top lightweight contender Dan Hooker. France has arrived in Vegas, and Hooker is there to help him. They have had a wonderful camp, and they’re putting in the final touches to finish it strong.

This would be a very crucial matchup for both of these guys, as a win over former champ could bring all the necessary attention to France, and making the most out of his flyweight debut could mean a possible title shot against the winner of Brandon Moreno vs Deiveson Figueiredo fight. Moreno showed interest in defending his belt against Cody, and if both these men can get past their opponents, then they can most definitely settle it out inside the octagon.
