Dustin Poirier vs Charles Oliveira before Diaz

After defeating the biggest MMA start Conor McGregor two times in a row, Dustin Poirier is currently enjoying the spotlight. The number one ranked lightweight is next in line for the title shot, but “The Diamond” is keeping an open mind to other possible fights as well.

Dustin and Nate Diaz exchanged some words a while back, and both of them showed interest in fighting each other. The duo was supposed to fight way back but the fight fell off, and now we might see these two getting back at each other pretty soon.

Nothing has been finalized yet, but Dustin’s coach Mike Brown thinks his disciple should go for the title first, in a recent interview with My MMA News, he said, “I’m assuming the title will probably be next, who knows. I see there’s some talks maybe potentially a Nate Diaz fight. I’m sure that would do giant numbers. They were scheduled to fight before, it kind of fell through. But that would be monster. Something everybody would want to see. Maybe they could do it at welterweight, nobody’s got to cut weight, kind of a fun fight for the fans. But I think probably first, business is winning the undisputed lightweight title.”

Mike Brown also talked about the idea of a fourth bout with Conor McGregor, he believes the fight is totally possible but he doesn’t see that happening anytime soon, he said, “Who knows, right? It’s all about entertainment, what people want to see.”

He added, “Money talks. But I mean, he’s gonna be out for a while so I don’t anticipate it anytime soon and I think there’s some other things that Dustin wants to take care of first. I would never say never to anything but I don’t see it in the near future.”
