Kamaru Usman respects Colby Covington

As we head closer to the most anticipated matchup of this year, Kamaru Usman talks about his arch-rival Colby Covington with MMA analyst, former double champ, Daniel Cormier.

Kamaru Usman vs Colby Covington 2 will be straight-up violence and entertainment. There is no doubt that the two welterweights will be giving it all in the main event of UFC 268 held at the Madison Square Garden, which is considered the Mecca of Sports. While Covington is all fired up and hates his opponent, Usman has a different approach to this fight.

The first fight between Usman and Covington had some of the most heated moments ever. Covington still has that same energy but Usman is taking a more calm approach given he is a champion with four title defenses now. Talking to Daniel Cormier, Usman says now that he is at the top of the mountain, he looks at things differently.

DC asked Usman if he appreciates that Colby and he have once again paired up to do business and will be selling massive PPV buys and Kamarudeen had a very mature answer. ‘It is a partnership. You have to have the right dance partner. I respect the guy, I have nothing against him,” said Kamaru.

“When you on top, you don’t want no ill will towards nobody. You just want to protect what you have. I have no ill will towards him, Gilbert, Leon, Masvidal, or anyone.”
