Retired UFC Superstar Khabib Nurmagomedov had many hilarious moments during the peak of his career. The Dagestani fighter recorded an undefeated MMA career that saw him establish himself at the top of the GOAT mountain. However, everyone forgets how Khabib reacted to a guy who bet against him.
Watching the bettor’s reaction on his phone, Khabib started passing commentary. The person was watching Khabib’s fight against Michael Jonson, but the guy started celebrating when Jonson had him in a Guillotine choke. However, the choke was not even close as Khabib quickly got out of it and submitted Jonson via Kimura hold. Khabib said, “Everyone looks happy here and here he is deeply hurt. Look at him. Hey, don’t be sad brother.”
Following the fight with Jonson, Khabib went on to call out Conor McGregor in an iconic call out. It took him another year and a half to compete and win the Lightweight Championship. After winning the title, he defended the title against McGregor, Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje to match the records of Benson Henderson and B J Penn.

Khabib Nurmagomedov retired after defeating Justin Gaethje back in 2020. His mother wanted him to retire shortly after his father’s death, and Khabib obeyed her. Since then, he has coached fellow Dagestani fighters, following in his father’s footsteps. However, his desire to spend more time with his family led him to leave coaching.

Colby Covington states Khabib Nurmagomedov did not fight at Welterweight because of him
Donald Trump’s Favourite Fighter makes an eye-catching statement on Khabib Nurmagomedov and why the Dagestani fighter did not move up to fight in the Welterweight division. Colby Covington has a definite answer to that question. In an interview, he took shots at Dagestani style of Wrestling and Khabib.
Colby said, “He never came to 170, because the man’s here. He doesn’t wanna fight the man. He knew the man that had a great style for him, the guy that was way more well rounded, could stuff his takedowns, being in his face and punch, and putting volume on him, and doesn’t break under cardio. Like, that’s what I do best. I would’ve walked him down. So, him and Makhachev need to shut their f****** mouths.”
Colby speculates why Khabib did not move up to the Welterweight division. Khabib never talked about moving weight classes. Covington just gave his opinion, which is not proven to be factually correct. Colby is rumoured to fight for the title against Champion Leon Edwards this year.
