Report: Khamzat Chimaev agrees to a freestyle wrestling match against Jack Hermansson for November 19

Khamzat Chimaev vs Jack Hermansson

Khamzat Chimaev vs Jack Hermansson has been booked for a match of freestyle wrestling. The fight is reported to happen on November 19th.

Bulldog Fight Night 9 has managed to get two of the biggest UFC fighters in the world to face each other in a freestyle wrestling match. The wrestling match is set to happen on November 19th. Khamzat Chimaev himself confirmed this booking on his Instagram. “Borz” is looking to pack as many fights as he can in his tight schedule since his return from injury.

Both Chimaev and Jack Hermansson have managed to get huge wins in their last fight in the UFC. It is quite surprising that the UFC has allowed its fighters to go and fight outside in a different organization. It is a very rare sight we see where the Ultimate Fighting Championship allows its fighters to do so but given this booking is a wrestling match, the UFC might have allowed it to happen.

Khamzat is finally set to make his return to the octagon after a lot of covid complications that also saw the fighter say he was going to retire soon. But after a lot of recovery and training, Chimaev has been booked to face Jingaliang Li at UFC 267. The Swedish KO artist has not fought since his devastating KO of Gerald Meerschaert in September 2020.

Meanwhile, Jack is coming off a win against Edmen Shahbazyan this year in May. Jack is a veteran of the sport with a record of 22-6-0. It will be interesting to see him face off someone that has the intensity as Chimaev in a freestyle wrestling match. We have seen Chimaev fight at both middleweight and also welterweight but this bout has been set at 187 pounds with two to three-minute rounds.
