UFC legend Cain Velasquez was JUMPED in jail on birthday after shooting at child molester

Cain Velasquez ushered in the era of a new breed of heavyweights in MMA. Velasquez was the first Mexican-origin champion in the UFC. He has also competed in professional wrestling. Now retired, Velasquez is a coach at American Kickboxing Academy. AKA head coach, Javier Mendez, and other AKA fighters highly praise Velasquez. However, injuries derailed what was a potential GOAT heavyweight career.
Velasquez made headlines in early 2022 when he used a firearm against his son’s alleged molester. He spent 8 months behind bars before he got out on bail. Velasquez recently appeared on the JAXXON podcast. On the podcast, co-host Rampage Jackson asked whether anybody jumped Velasquez in jail. This is what Velasquez said in reply.

Velasquez is one of the most respected fighters in the UFC. He got overwhelming support from the UFC community when the police arrested him. Velasquez was recently in the corner of Gabriel Benitez when he fought Jim Miller. He was also in the corner of Usman Nurmagomedov during his latest fight.
During his heyday, Velasquez, Daniel Cormier, and Luke Rockhold simultaneously held UFC titles. It was the first and only instance when three fighters from the same team held UFC titles simultaneously.

At one point, American Kickboxing Academy was the most feared MMA gym in the world. At AKA, Velasquez shared a close bond with Daniel Cormier. Cormier and Velaquez were both heavyweight but competed in different promotions; Strikeforce and the UFC, respectively. However, the UFC acquired Strikeforce.
Due to their bond, Cormier dropped down from heavyweight to light heavyweight. On the JAXXON podcast, Velasquez revealed that the duo had some of the best sparring sessions ever. Cormier had in the past remarked that Velasquez was the better of the two. Moreover, he has even stated that Velasquez would easily defeat Jones.
In addition to Cormier, Velasquez has a strong bond with Luke Rockhold, Moreover, Islam Makhachev and Khabib Nurmagomedov also have a good relationship with Velasquez. Nurmagomedov was one of the fighters who wrote a letter of support for Velasquez during his bail hearing.
