Bantamweight fighter Marlon “Chito” Vera will take on Cory Sandhagen at UFC on ESPN 43. He has had 20 fights in the UFC. Vera was a member of The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America season, part of Team Werdum. Vera was on the Joe Rogan Experience and showed off his tattoo to him. Joe Rogan showered praise saying, “Mister Cartoon is a legend.”
Famous tattoo artist Mister Cartoon inked the tattoo for Vera. Joe Rogan was in awe of the tattoo and praised Mister Cartoon. Vera had high praise for Mister Cartoon. He said, “Not just big names, big names at their prime. Eminem, when he was blowing up in the whole entire world, Mr. Cartoon did his tattoos. Eminem would say in interviews, ‘I only get tattoo’d by Cartoon because you can’t afford it.’ He would say that in a video to the world and I’m like, ‘Holy s***, that guy did my whole entire back.”
The tattoos of Marlon Vera have a meaning that is personal to him. Joe Rogan was amazed by it. It also cost him a fortune and long hours to complete the tattoo. Vera is on a four-fight winning streak, including a victory over legends like Frankie Edgar and Dominick Cruz. A win over Cory Sandhagen can help him be in contention for a future shot at the title.
Cory Sandhagen has not fought since his victory over Yadong Song in September 2022. Sandhagen fought for the interim Championsip back in 2021 but lost the fight to Petr Yan. Sandhagen remain among the top contenders in the Bantamweight division and will hope to move closer to another title shot after a win over Marlon Vera.
Daniel Cormier does not like the tattoo of Marlon Vera
Former Champion and retired UFC fighter Daniel Cormier disliked Marlon Vera’s latest tattoos. The retired fighter gave his take on tattoo culture on his Youtube Channel.
Cormier said, “I tap out, man. That s*** looks terrible. I don’t understand why these dudes are putting tattoos on the head. There’s the problem. I have got some tattoos. I’ve got some tattoos on my arms, I’ve got some tattoos on my leg, on my back.”
It appears that the current trend of getting tattoos on different parts of the body is not appealing to Cormier. Vera, however, loves his tattoos as they have deeply personal meanings.
