Michael Chandler reveals that fight against Conor McGregor would be his dream fight

Like many other fighters in the world, Michael Chandler reveals that his dream fight in the UFC would be against Irish superstar Conor McGregor.

UFC’s former lightweight title contender Michael Chandler was kind enough to let his fans ask him whatever they wanted and responded to their questions on Twitter. While he answered a lot of questions put forward by his Twitter fans, one answer that caught everyone’s eye was the “Iron” revealing who he would love to take on in a dream fight. It was no surprise that Conor McGregor was the name in his mind.

Conor is undoubtedly the biggest superstar in the fighting world. A McGregor fight is the epitome of a “Money” fight. Chandler also revealed that he would choose money over legacy given his legacy won’t put food on the table for his family. With where McGregor is right now in his career, Chandler isn’t too far from a fight against Conor. Chandler has mentioned the Irishman’s name many times in the past and said that he respects him for the showman he is.

Michael Chandler wants to fight for the belt again

Chandler surprised the whole world when he was bumped up to a title shot when he was only one fight into the new promotion. The former Bellator lightweight champion defeated Dan Hooker in his first UFC fight via a highlight reel KO. He was given an opportunity to fight for the vacant UFC lightweight title against Charles Oliveira at UFC 262. Chandler lost the fight via KO in the second round.

While many deemed Chandler’s title shot as “undeserved” the lightweight fighter is determined to prove himself again and get another shot at the title. He is now scheduled to fight Justin Gaethje. The Chandler vs Gaethje fight is potentially a title contender fight.
