Alex Pereira is still not over his amazing win against his arch-nemesis Israel Adesanya at UFC 281. The Brazilian puts out a cold message towards the former champion shutting down claims of “early stoppage”.
History repeated itself but in a different sport as Alex Pereira once got the better of his arch-nemesis Israel Adesanya at UFC 281. The former GLORY kickboxing champion made his way to a UFC middleweight title shot against his former rival and managed to shock the world by knocking one of the greatest middleweights of all time to become the new champion.
Alex Pereira knocked out Adesanya in the final round of the fight. Referee Marc Goddard called a stoppage to the fight as Izzy was left defenseless as Pereira landed a flurry of punches. The Brazilian has slammed Izzy for claiming an early stoppage in their meeting at Madison Square Garden. “Poatan” believes his rival should be thankful that referee Marc Goddard called for the stoppage and saved Izzy’s life.
Alex Pereira is confident he would have sent Adesanya to oblivion if not for Goddard’s stoppage in the final round. “Assume the mistakes along your team without taking away my merits. You will have one more chance! You’re next!” confirmed Periera talking about his immediate rematch with the long-time UFC champion.

He’s right. The only people complaining about the stoppage must have wanted to see Izzy to out on oxygen like he did last time.

Facts. Few more hits and Izzy would’ve been frozen, like Elsa.

I am a big fan of Izzy, it was a good stoppage because all of his strikes during this flurry landed. Watch it in slow mo & everything landed flush. Scary accurate.

Now that Pereira is 3-0 against Israel Adesanya in their rivalry, fans have mixed feelings about the immediate rematch. However, the fact that Izzy was 3-1 on the scorecards before getting knocked in the final round, and his dominant reign as the champion earns him the right to a rematch. What are your thoughts on the Pereira vs Adesanya 2?
