Alexander Volkanovski is willing to fight Conor McGregor at 170lbs to defend Hasbulla’s honor
Volk vows to go to war against McGregor to avenge the insult to Hasby
Alexander Volkanovski is willing to fight Conor McGregor but only to defend his friend, Hasbulla’s honor. The Aussie Featherweight Champ, recently met up with the viral sensation from Russia during his visit to Melbourne l, Australia. This led to a few comments from McGregor, that ultimately transpired into the spot we are today.
Hasbulla is a 19-year-old with a growth deficiency disease that makes him look more akin to a toddler. He was a close/family friend of Khabib Numragomedov and Islam, and shot to worldwide fame from the MMA community. The very first viral video featuring the Russian was him punching and running away from one of Numragomedov’s Eagles MMA teammates.
Recently while in Melbourne, they linked up with Volkanovski where they worked on shooting some content together. This ended up in a viral post where the two were eating burgers they probably made, until Hasbulla smashed an entire burger to the face of the #1 pound-for-pound fighter.
Alexander Volkanovski wants to fight Conor McGregor and beat every Featherweight champion ever
Volkanovski himself was not offended by the act though he did mind that there were sauces in his eyes for the moment, however the same cannot be said of former two weight champion, Conor McGregor. The Irishman posted to Twitter that he would like to punt the Russian. This led to a back and forth between the Notorious one and Hasby that ended with Volk reminding McGregor that he’d have to go through the Aussie to take a shot at his friend.
Now during a recent episode of UFC’s Weekly Update Show on FOX, Volk who was in the studio along with CKB teammate, Dan Hooker discussed the possibility of moving up in weight to challenge McGregor. While Volk has stated his intentions to move up to lightweight in the past, this time, only to face Conor, he is willing to move up to his original UFC weight class at 170.
Dan expressed doubt over if McGregor will be able to make the 145 limits ever again, further questioning if he could even make it to lightweight in his condition. Hence when asked Volk if he would move up to 170, Volk sternly replied, “Mate like to be honest I would, 100% “
Dan then went on to talk about how he considers Volk to be among the top contenders for McGregor when he returns emphasizing on how big anything that has to do with Conor can get.
Volk said, “Apart from all the fame and money, he’s the only champion I haven’t beat, I beat Max Holloway, I beat Aldo, he’s the only featherweight champion I haven’t fought” Further Volk joked about accepting the fight, simply as a crusader for Hasbulla as he tried to explain that he did not take offence to being smashed in the face with a hot burger.
