Arman Tsarukyan and former UFC champion Charles Oliveira will fight it out at UFC 300. Tsarukyan recently had an interview where he revealed Charles Oliveira’s weakness. He also talked about his preparation and game plan for the fight. Here is what happened:

Arman Tsarukyan recently gave an exclusive interview with Daniel Cormier and Chris Weidman. He talked about his upcoming fight against Charles Oliveira at UFC 300. At one point in the interview, Chris Weidman asked the young talent Tsarukyan if he studied any of Charles Oliveira’s fights to get to know his moves better. This is what he said:

 Islam is high-level fighter, but Charles, he has some weaknesses. His weakness he does not know freestyle wrestling. Took him down is very easy.

Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev fought at UFC 280 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. They headlined the event for the vacant UFC lightweight championship. Islam Makhachev defeated Charles Oliveira via submission and thus became the lightweight champion. A scheduled rematch at UFC 294 was canceled because Charles Oliveira withdrew from the bout. This was because he got a deep cut above his that forced him to pull out of the fight.

Now, Charles Oliveira will have to secure himself as the next title challenger in the division against Arman Tsarukyan. UFC CEO Dana White recently announced the fight card for the upcoming UFC 300 event. White revealed the first three fights for UFC 300 in Las Vegas, one of which was Oliveira vs Tsarukyan’s matchup. This matchup is crucial, as the winner will likely face Islam Makhachev for the UFC lightweight title.

What did Arman Tsarukyan say about Islam Makhachev?

In the interview with Daniel Cormier and Chris Weidman, Arman Tsarukyan had good things to say about Islam Makhachev. Tsarukyan complemented Islam when compared to Charles Oliveira and called him an elite fighter.

The two do have a history together. Islam Makhachev and Arman Tsarukyan faced off against each other in a three-round lightweight fight back in April 2019. Makhachev won the fight Makhachev via unanimous decision. Tsarukyan acknowledged the tough fight and had expressed a desire for a rematch. Now, he will fight Charles Oliveira at UFC 300 as the No. 1 contender for the lightweight title fight.

Arman Tsarukyan boasts a professional record of 21 wins, three losses, and 0 draws. His record includes eight knockouts, five submissions, and seven decisions. Meanwhile, two of his losses came by decision, and one was by knockout. Now, it will be interesting to see how the 27-year-old contender fares against the former UFC champion Oliveira for a potential showdown for the UFC lightweight title.
