Bobby Green is one of the veterans of the UFC. The lightweight contender will face fellow veteran Jim Miller at UFC 300 in a highly anticipated fight. UFC CEO Dana White had earlier promised an MMA journalist to put Miller at UFC 300, and he kept his promise. Green appeared on the JAXXON podcast before his fight with Jalin Turner at UFC Austin.

Green has fought close to 50 professional fights. Moreover, he has fought in obscure locations in Mexico at the beginning of his career. On the JAXXON podcast, Green had an interesting story to tell about one of his fights in Tijuana, Mexico.

I'm fighting this guy named Herman Terrado. You know what that is? He's just f*ckin this huge-ass, roided-out f*cker, you know. Just huge. I think he fights at 185, so I happen to just be looking at the paperwork...I look at the paperwork; it says he weighed in at 185, you know, and we're fighting at 155.... So, we get in, um, we get in the back of the dressing room, and Herman comes into our dressing room......Then they leave, and when they left, I had this thought in the back of my head like, 'f*ck that guy was huge, you know.' And I didn't say nothing, though. But I looked at my corner, and they said, 'Hey, that n**ga was huge.'

What’s interesting about the story is that Green defeated Terrado without even a day in between his defeat to Josh Gaskins in California. His fight with Gaskins was on March 8 in Tustin, California and he fought Terrado in Tijuana on March 9. Green defeated Terrado by guillotine choke in the third round in the fight he fought for a $800 payday.

Green lost his recent bout at UFC Austin to Jalin Turner. It was a controversial fight as the referee took longer to step in after Turner knocked Green out. Green has fought 24 times in the UFC and won half of those fights. Moreover, he has fought the likes of Dustin Poirier, Islam Makhachev, Tony Ferguson, Josh Thomson, and Rafael Fiziev to name a few.

Bobby Green reveals how Sean Strickland got his unique fighting style

Sean Strickland recently lost his middleweight title to Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 297. He had earlier won the title at UFC 293 against Israel Adesanya in a massive upset. Many credited his boxing-esque style similar to Floyd Mayweather Jr. as the reason for his success. Only a select few, like Alex Pereira, picked Strickland to upset Adesanya at UFC 293.

On the JAXXON podcast, Green revealed that his stepfather got his BJJ black belt from Strickland’s coach. As a show of respect, Green sparred with Strickland in their early 20s. As per Green, he bested Strickland at the time. Green stated that Strickland’s sparring sessions with himself and Lorenz Larkin were the reason for Strickland’s improved boxing style.

Green also revealed that Strickland did not have a filter even at the time. However, Green stated that the duo did not have a relationship as they hated each other.
