Turner secured the victory via KO in the first round. This raised discussions about the referee stoppage in the fight against Green. O’Malley weighed in on the controversial stoppage, offering his thoughts on the matter. On his TimboSugarShow, Sean O’Malley said:

That fight could have been stopped legit 20 seconds earlier. Then again, imagine it gets stopped and they say, ‘Oh, it was too early.’ That’s what could have happened. That’s just the game we play. It’s tricky. That was nasty. Jalin Turner should be arrested for that ‘cause he knocked him out about 13 times. I’m kidding.

Jalin Turner replaced Dan Hooker on short notice for the bout against Bobby Green at UFC Fight Night. Turner accepted the fight after Dan Hooker withdrew, citing the ruthless nature of the current UFC environment for fighters who decline opportunities. Turner’s recent record includes back-to-back split decision losses against Mateusz Gamrot and Dan Hooker.

Notably, the referee’s stoppage during the match drew criticism. Daniel Cormier even labeled it as the “worst stoppage in UFC history”.
