Without a shred of doubt, Conor McGregor is the biggest star to ever step inside the octagon. His star is also reflected by how much fanfare he creates, despite being out of action for around a year and a half.
That being said, there is one contentious issue around Conor McGregor’s return to the octagon. As confirmed by UFC supremo Dana White, a fighter must be tested by USADA at least six months prior to their fight. Conor McGregor, however, has been absent from USADA’s testing pool for at least a year now. Fans also tried to jump the gun and linked that with his bulked-up frame.
However, now, Conor McGregor has come forward and revealed his own plans of entering USADA’s testing pool. He tweeted, “I am clear for testing in February. I will complete my two tests per USADA and we are booking a fight.”
If McGregor is to be believed, then the earliest date at which he could fight will be August of next year – however, all of that is contingent on whether he does decide to get himself tested first. Therefore, fight fans still have to wait quite a bit to see the sport’s biggest name return to action. For those who didn’t know, McGregor last fought (and lost) to Dustin Poirier in July last year.
The MMA Community shows its reluctance at believing Conor McGregor’s self-hypothesized time of return
Despite Conor McGregor staunchly asserting that he will return to the drug testing pool early next year, the MMA community seemed to be reluctant in believing him. While some fans doubted the sincerity of his words, others questioned why he must wait till early next year to enter the drug testing pool. Some of the best reactions from the MMA community, including that of Tony Ferguson, are attached below.

Whatever be the case, the truth of the matter is that no fight fan will want to miss a McGregor fight if and when that happens. For his comeback, he has a few options – Justin Gaethje and Michael Chandler being a couple of them. However, being Conor McGregor comes with privileges- no one he calls out will turn him down.
