The sport of mixed martial arts has seen many big names compete in the octagon. While the UFC to has been responsible for creating many big stars, none of them have been close to what Conor McGregor has replicated. Over the years, the Irishman has achieved a lot of popularity due to his brilliant performances in the octagon.

Along with being extremely skilled in the cage, Conor McGregor is also talented with his words. Since his debut in 2008, The Notorious showed charisma and his talks attracted fans towards him. While he became a featherweight champion in the UFC, McGregor made history when he beat Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 for the 155-pound title and became a two-division champion.

Post that, McGregor also fought Floyd Mayweather. Even though he lost, Mystic Mac gained the appreciation of several fans around the world. His career in fighting has often proved that Conor McGregor is one fearless man who would take on anybody in his path. However, there is one fighter Conor McGregor feels doubtful against.

Over the years, women’s mixed martial arts have seen a huge rise. The one fighter who deserves credit for the same is Rousey. In a time when women wouldn’t compete in the octagon, Rousey through her performances became the first female champion in the promotion. Known for her grappling prowess, Rousey was a force to reckon with in her prime.

One man who acknowledged the same is McGregor. During an interview, McGregor once mentioned that he felt Rousey would take him down immediately if they were to square off. He said, “I certainly would not like to end up in a tie-up with Miss Rousey! I remember one time when I’d seen her and I greeted her and I said ‘what’s up champ?’ and we embraced. I swear on my life her back muscles were the solidest (sic) back muscles I’d ever felt in my life.” (via Sports Illustrated)

Rousey must have felt special receiving such a compliment from McGregor.
