Conor McGregor and Richie Lewis collaborated in a five-week training camp for The Ultimate Fighter. This was revealed by McGregor on X. Richie Lewis, a World freestyle wrestling champion, sparred with McGregor during this camp.
Lewis shared insights into the training on his Instagram. The collaboration showcased Conor McGregor‘s commitment to diverse training methods, incorporating wrestling expertise from Lewis to enhance his skills. The partnership highlighted McGregor’s strategic approach to preparation. Taking to X, McGregor wrote:

McGregor is open to working with specialists in various disciplines to elevate his overall performance in The Ultimate Fighter. The Notorious is making strides towards a UFC comeback after a major leg break in July 2021. He further expressed his interest in a potential return in December, suggesting progress towards a comeback.
McGregor’s coach confirmed a definite comeback in the first half of 2024. Previously sidelined due to a leg break, McGregor has a new comeback date amid discussions about his mental health struggles. While paperwork for re-enrollment was submitted, the UFC’s disassociation with USADA has just amped up the possibility of an early comeback in the octagon.
Conor McGregor’s potential comeback against Michael Chandler
There has been anticipation and speculation about a potential fight between Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor. Chandler expressed confidence in the matchup, aiming for a fight potentially at UFC 300. Both fighters were coaches on “The Ultimate Fighter: Team McGregor vs. Team Chandler,” confirming their involvement and setting the stage for a future matchup.
However, Michael Chandler explained his approach to the potential fight with Conor McGregor, stating that he was not in a hurry to make it happen.
Chael Sonnen found the Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler situation perplexing, particularly regarding the weight class for the fight. The uncertainty surrounding the fight’s weight class has Sonnen baffled, describing the situation as “getting a little weird”. Sonnen told MMA Junkie:
Never in history have we had a fight where we don’t have a weight class...I’m just sharing with you this is getting a little weird at this point.
