Conor McGregor recently announced the birth of his 4th child. Before that, he made scathing remarks against the politicians of the Republic of Ireland. This was due to a notable law in Ireland and also because of a violent crime. His involvement in political criticism caught the attention of the general public. Many urged McGregor to become the Prime Minister of the country. However, Arman Tsarukyan was not on board with the idea.
MMA Journalist Vladislav Usachev recently interviewed Arman Tsarukyan. During the interview, the question of McGregor as the Irish PM came up. Interestingly, Tsarukyan scoffed at the thought. This is what he said about it:
I don't think he (Conor McGregor) has any competence to become a President.Arman Tsarukyan via XTRA MMA
Tsarukyan does not think McGregor can be a competent political leader. McGregor is a controversial figure and has outspoken views. Tsarukyan is a fan of Khabib Nurmagomedov, which may have swayed his answer. Nurmagomedov and McGregor had one of the most intense rivalries in the UFC. Tsarukyan has stated on record that Nurmagomedov was why he began to pursue MMA.
Tsarukyan will headline the upcoming UFC Austin against Beneil Dariush. Jalin Turner and Bobby Green are in the co-main event. Interestingly, Tsarukyan and Green got in a scuffle recently. Videos of the altercation are widely circulated on social media.
Arman Tsarukyan confident of Conor McGregor fighting Michael Chandler on return
The MMA community anticipates the return of Conor McGregor. Rumors suggest that he will headline UFC 300 against Michael Chandler. However, UFC has not made any official confirmation. Moreover, Eddie Alvarez recently said that the UFC remains in the process of making McGregor vs. Nate Diaz. McGregor’s coach, John Kavanagh, recently said that McGregor will not return at UFC 300.
Nevertheless, rising UFC lightweight Arman Tsarukyan felt McGregor would return at UFC 300 against Michael Chandler. Tsarukyan spoke of it in a recent interview with META MMA on YouTube. He thought it was the easiest matchup for McGregor in the top 5 of the rankings. Interestingly, a fight with McGregor also interests Tsarukyan if an opportunity arises.
Tsarukyan will look to crack the top 5 in his upcoming bout against Beneil Dariush. Dariush last fought former champion Charles Oliveira at UFC 289 but lost via TKO in the first round. Tsarukyan is on a two-fight win streak after a controversial loss to Mateusz Gamrot.
