Owned by UFC CEO Dana White, Power Slap is an American slap-fighting promotion company. The show premiered in January 2023 and White recently claimed that it would soon become a mainstream entertainment sport.

Dana White asserted that Power Slap was a remarkable success. White emphasized its global success and massive social media draw. In a recent episode of Rock Sugar Magic podcast, this is what Dana White said: 

This thing is a fu*king juggernaut... you combine all their social media numbers and multiple them by four, Power Slap beats them...In nine months I have an unbelievable amount of sponsors...this is a $450 million business.

Despite controversies, Dana White insists on Power Slap’s success, claiming it was gaining traction on social media and would become a mainstream sport soon. However, fact-checking disputes White’s claim, indicating that Power Slap’s YouTube numbers don’t compare to other sports.

He claimed it surpassed the top 10 world sports with a staggering $450 million in business within nine months. Notably, the Nevada Athletic Commission chairman admitted approving Power Slap was a mistake. Medical experts criticized Power Slap, deeming it regressive for UFC and MMA due to potential health risks, particularly to sensitive areas like the face and head.

A reporter recently asked Dana White if these factors hurt Pereira’s chances of being a superstar in the sport. To this, Dana White replied: 

He is a mean looking mother fu**er okay? He is a scary dude. And that is a persona in itself... people are like oh should you act like Conor McGregor?... No you should be you.. You can be a deaf mute in this sport. If you’re a bada** and you can win a world title, does not matter.
