“Already beat everybody” – Dana White talks about Kamaru Usman beating every other welterweight contender except Khamzat Chimaev
Dana White recently appeared at the press conference of DWCS where he answered some of the questions made by the media. During the interview, White was asked about Khamzat Chimaev’s credibility to fight for the title if he beats Nate Diaz in his next fight.
While responding to the question, White gave a green light to the possibility of Chimaev fighting for the title next. According to White, if the ‘Borz’ beats Diaz, he rightfully deserves a shot at the championship. “It’s fair. I don’t ever do that s*** but yeah, it’s fair to say if he wins that’s the fight to make.”
White then went on to explain this is the fight to make and mentioned that Usman has already beat everybody in the division and now Chimaev is the only top contender left. He said :
“He’s(Usman) already beat everybody twice in the top, whatever. So yeah, that makes sense.“
However, White is not a fan of Usman moving up to the light heavyweight division and challenging the champion.
“You know what doesn’t make sense, 205. But you know what, look what the guy has done he said I wanna go fight at 205, What am I gonna do? What am I gonna tell him? Why would not give him the opportunity?.”
Usman has proved that he is the undisputed king of the welterweight division. Currently, Chimaev is the only fighter on which fans have expectations that he can beat Usman. But it’s going to be a monumental task for the Swedish to be able to dethrone Usman from his position. Nevertheless, it is going to be an amazing title fight if it ever takes place.
