The boss is finally aware of what happened between Paulo Costa and Khamzat Chimaev and quite surprisingly, Dana White is not mad at those two at all. White is the President of the UFC, the world’s largest MMA organization for more than 2 decades. A company that was valued at $2 million when White became the face of it in 2001, is today worth around $9-10 billion that houses huge mainstream names such as the likes of Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz, Israel Adesanya, Jorge Masvidal, Sean O’Malley, Paddy Pimblett and many more.

This weekend UFC 279 is taking place in T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, often known as the fight capital of the world. In the main event, Khamzat Chimaev is fighting Nate Diaz in what will be Chimaev’s first-ever five-round main event in the organization and Diaz’s last UFC fight. In the co-main event, former interim-UFC lightweight champion Tony Ferguson will make his welterweight debut by fighting Chinese MMA fighter Li Jingliang.

In the post-event media scrum of Dana White’s Contender Series, White talks about the Diaz brothers’ legacy, the decision to hand over UFC contracts to certain winners of the Contender Series, storytime about almost getting into a fight with Diaz and much more. In the midst of all, White also reacts to the infamous UFC PI incident where Chimaev and UFC middleweight Paulo Costa nearly got into a hostile, physical interaction.

“We’re in the fight business, this stuff happens,” says White. “It’s up to us to make sure that they don’t fight at the PI, that’s our job. So fighters will be fighters and those things are going to happen and we’ll deal with it,” concluded White.

So far, Costa and Nate Diaz’s teammate Jake Shields, who was training Costa for a session at the time, have spoken about the incident and they both felt like Chimaev was just getting aggressive for the cameras and didn’t really want to scrap during the scene. What did you make of the scuffle between those two? What do you make of White’s reaction? Who do you think wins if a fight between Costa and Chimaev is booked in near future? What are your predictions for UFC 279?
