Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir has retired from the organization since his loss to Mark Hunt in 2016. Ever since then, Mir has fought under Bellator and also made his debut in boxing. Despite his retirement, Frank Mir is on good terms with Dana White, which has helped his daughter Bella Mir get signed in the UFC. Bella Mir’s record speaks for itself and even White is blown away by her strength.
Bella made her MMA debut in 2020 at 17 years. She is currently a freshman at the University of Iowa, where she is part of the women’s wrestling team. Bella Mir is also signed by UFC but not for fighting inside the octagon. Mir is the first NIL ambassador to be signed by the UFC. She will have the opportunity to make money through her social media activity and public appearances. She has also been given access to UFC’s Performance Institute where she surprised Dana White with her strength.
The UFC head honcho posted a clip on Instagram story of Bella single-handedly rowing with a 120 lbs dumbbell. “Ladymir is a little BADASS!!! 120 lbs and she is TINY. Incredible athlete,“ posted Dana White. Given Mir fights at 144lbs, she is almost rowing her body weight with one hand. She is one of the most sought-after prospects and has a record of 3 wins and 0 losses in her career.
While Bella Mir has not revealed a timeline for her UFC debut, she has stated she wants to win an Olympic gold medal in wrestling. Regardless, she has the former heavyweight champion to teach her everything necessary and fans will eventually see her in UFC.
