UFC Las Vegas 62 saw Jonathan Martinez facing Cub Swanson in the co-main. Cub Swanson was making his debut in the Bantamweight but it didn’t go well for him as he got TKOed by Jonathan Martinez.

The first round started with Cub Swanson looking more impressive landing a few good kicks and a double-leg takedown. Martinez was quick to get on his feet and landed a knee to Swanson’s head followed by another knee to the body which dropped Swanson to the ground only to be saved by the bell as the first round ended.

The second round started with Martinez completely dominating his opponent. Martinez wanted to end the fight quickly taking advantage of the damage Swanson took a few moments ago in the first round. Martinez took Swanson to the ground but Swanson got up only to be on the receiving end of  3 vicious leg kicks to his left leg which ended the fight with 40 seconds still on the clock.

Jonathan Martinez not only managed to land the biggest win of his career defeating a veteran like Cub Swanson but even managed to win it via a rare leg kick TKO.

Fans had wild reactions to the way Swanson got destroyed inside the Octagon.

One fan praised kicks of Martinez and how Swanson could get hold of them. He wrote, “Martinez’s kicks are insane. He mixes them up so well, Cub couldn’t get inside. Sad to see.”

Another fan adviced that the UFC Hall of Famer should switch promotions. He posted, “I think we are coming to the point where Cub switches promotions or retires altogether”

A Twitter user said that Martinez‘s kicks made Swanson spin like Saturn. He wrote, “Kicked him that hard he spun round like Saturn”

A fan wrote criticizing Herb for stopping the fight late wrote: “Herb Dean really wanted to give Cub a chance to fight back tonight, huh?”

The leg kicked on Swanson sent him back to Cali. Another fan wrote:

“Leg KICKED Swan all the way back to Cali”
