Fighter gets ridiculed for missing weight after claiming that it was the “easiest weight cut” ahead of UFC Vegas 64

For UFC fighters, losing weight can occasionally be a challenging task. Especially when you consider the number of champions who had their titles stripped for missing weight. Making weight for a fight could put athletes under a lot of stress before a battle.
Recently, ahead of UFC Vegas 64 Bantamweight fighter, Benito Lopez failed to make weight, Weighing 3.5 lbs more than the required weight to compete in the Bantamweight division. In the aftermath of the event, the fighter was viciously mocked by MMA fans for a post he made regarding his nutrition while losing weight for the fight. In an Instagram story a few weeks back, Benito Lopez wrote, “Losing weight never tasted so sweet.”
Benito Lopez is set to face Mauricio Bautista at UFC Vegas 64 which now most probably will be a catchweight fight. Both fighters had made promising starts to their UFC career and will be looking for a win to further propel their respective records. Benito Lopez was not the only fighter to miss weight at UFC Las Vegas 64 as five other fighters missed weight ahead of the event.

Other fighters who missed weight ahead of UFC Vegas 64
UFC Las Vegas 64 has been a disastrous event so far. With several fighters failing to make the required weight, the event which had already lost its planned headliner, Bryce Mitchell vs. Movsar Evloev—has now suffered yet another setback. Three of the four fighters who failed to make weight on the night will compete in catchweight matches.
The fight between Grant Dawson and Mark Madsen now appears to be in trouble after Dawson missed the weights. The outcome of tomorrow night’s fight between the two lightweights is still up in the air. Ramona Pascual, who has yet to claim a victory inside the cage, was one pound over the women’s bantamweight limit. Shanna Young made her weight only after cutting her hair.

All of these fighters will be fined and forced to give up 20 percent of their paycheck. Although most fans of mixed martial arts are not much hyped about this event, it is nonetheless a strong card. Especially, the women’s strawweight division match between Marina Rodriguez and Amanda Lemos will be UFC Vegas 64’s main attraction.
