Alex Pereira claimed his second title by securing a second-round knockout against Jiri Prochazka at UFC 295 earlier this November. Pereira, known for previously winning the middleweight championship, showcased his prowess in the light heavyweight division. He defeated Prochazka in a spectacular fashion with a technical knockout. This victory not only secured Pereira’s position as the light heavyweight champion but also demonstrated his versatility by winning titles in two different weight classes.

Alex Pereira does not take Khamzat Chimaev’s callout seriously

UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira dismissed Khamzat Chimaev’s callout. ‘Poatan’ said it was nothing but mere hype-chasing. Pereira stated that Chimaev had his opportunity in the past, implying disinterest in the matchup.

Pereira had a previous negative encounter with Chimaev’s callout. This contributed to his reluctance to engage in a fight with him. This sentiment was reinforced by Pereira’s remark that Chimaev was attempting to capitalize on hype rather than genuine competition. The UFC light heavyweight champion seems unswayed by Chimaev’s recent callout, emphasizing his strategic approach to fight selection.

Alex Pereira‘s professional MMA record is 9 wins and 2 losses. In his kickboxing career, Pereira boasts a record of 33-7 with 21 knockouts, and he competed in Glory Kickboxing with a record of 12-4 and eight knockouts. Notably, he has held the Glory Kickboxing World Middleweight interim title. Pereira is recognized for his powerful striking, with 21 knockout finishes out of 33 wins in professional kickboxing.
