Henry Cejudo talks about Amanda Nunes vs Valentina Shevchenko 3! Nunes retained her UFC bantamweight title against Julianna Pena at the main event of UFC 277. “The Lioness” lost her first fight against Pena at UFC 269. Pena flipped the world on its head when he choked out Nunes, and it left a permanent mark on Nunes’ legacy.
Nunes was hell bent on getting her title back but the newly crowned queen made it very clear that Nunes would have to walk over her grave to get it back. These two squared off at UFC 277, and Nunes put up an absolute masterclass to win the fight via unanimous decision.
She once again proved to everyone why she’s the best female fighter on the planet, and UFC’s flyweight champion, Valentina Shevchenko was impressed by her performance as well.
Nunes and Shevchenko are undoubtedly the most dominant champions on the roster, and they have each other twice. Nunes came out victorious at both the occasions but the fights were razor close, and many though Valentina did enough to actually get the win.
Dana White talked about a possibility of a 3rd fight between them during the UFC 277 post-fight conference, and he said he’d love to book a 3rd fight between these two. Fans got pretty excited after this, and former UFC champion, Henry Cejudo shared his thoughts on this fight.

Talking on The Triple C & The Schmo Show, he said, “For the third fight, I’m actually gonna go Valentina Shevchenko just for the simple fact that Valentina has gotten a lot better and she’s the younger fighter, I believe, and she’s a smaller fighter. Going up is actually better than coming down. Because if you’re struggling to make 135 pounds, going up she’s going to feel really good.”
Henry added, “Knowing Valentina, she’s all about fighting, she’s on a quest to do some amazing things. I don’t think she’s married or in a relationship, she’s literally married to the game and that also makes somebody extremely dangerous. Amanda now has a kid, a wife, and I’m not saying that stuff holds you down but time is given.”
“Especially me now as a father, it’s like recovery time or I gotta get home, X, Y, and Z. I think this is the time to make it because they’re both kind of getting up there in age, too. So, if they’re going to make it, I say they make it within the next six months and let the people know who is the pound-for-pound queen,” Henry concluded.
