Henry Cejudo praises Jake Paul
Henry Cejudo has nothing but respect for YouTube celebrity Jake Paul for his role in the Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano boxing match.
Last weekend, the world of boxing witnessed one of the greatest fights ever as the undisputed champion Katie Taylor took on the 7-division champion Amanda Serrano in what was one of the most exciting fights we have seen this year. Amanda and Katie went the distance in an absolute slugfest as the fight ended in a split decision result favoring the Irish woman.
This fight broke all barriers and managed to create history by becoming the first-ever woman’s fight to headline an event at the Madison Square Garden in New York City. The promoters behind this fight were YouTube boxer Jake Paul and legendary boxing promoter Eddie Hearn. The Matchroom Boxing promotions and Most Valuable Promotions joined hands to put together this historic event and former MMA champion Henry Cejudo was in awe of this event.
“I used to be the biggest Jake Paul hater. I get what he’s doing now. I like the dude now,” said Cejudo in the recent episode of The Triple C & Schmo Show. “I think him fighting for the fighters, him promoting women’s fighting. Selling the fight…I actually respect and see what he’s doing.”
Henry Cejudo says Jake Paul has done more for boxing than anyone in the last few years
“I think it is good, man. I think he has done so much for boxing recently than anybody else has in the last f**king five years,” said Cejudo on Paul. “He’s really promoting the sport, he’s able to get these girls to fight.” Amanda has publicly said that Jake has helped her earn the biggest paycheck in her boxing career.
Paul very recently started his MVP promotions. He also featured Serrano in the undercard of his blockbuster PPV fight against Tyron Woodley on SHOWTIME. The fighter is now 5-0 as a professional boxer and is looking to return this August. In the short time, Paul has been in the sport of boxing, he has managed to bring all eyes on him and create a platform for himself.
