UFC heavyweight Jairzinho Rozenstruik had an undefeated career before running into Francis Ngannou in 2020. Since then, he has lost four more times in the UFC. He fought Jailton Almeida at UFC on ABC 4 and lost in the first round.
Following the loss, Jairzinho Rozenstruik went on Twitter to address his fifth loss in three years. He wrote, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it’s the courage to continue that counts.” Rozenstruik appears to be at a career crossroads after losing to top competition in his UFC stint.
Jailton Almeida is a thrilling heavyweight prospect with insane BJJ skills and striking. He has a five-fight win streak in the UFC. Showcasing his excellent Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu again, he easily submitted Rozenstruik without taking any damage. Other heavyweight contenders will worry about facing Jailton Almeida in a future bout.
Rozenstruik was disappointed with his performance. Consistent rank drops can also trouble his position in negotiating a new UFC contract. The Surinamese fighter must improve his takedown defense if he wants to compete for the title. He will hope to bounce back against a top contender for his next fight.
