UFC 281 is currently one of the most hyped even in MMA. The event is going to take place on November 12, 2022, and in the main event bout, Israel Adesanya will defend his title against Alex Pereira.
Ahead of the event, Joe Rogan recently in one of his ‘JRE’ Podcasts was talking about the fight. In the video, the comedian explained how Adesanya is a completely new fighter in comparison to the one who lost to Pereira twice in kickboxing. Rogan revealed that Izzy is a much better fighter with several experiences in big five-round fights. However, Rogan also mentioned that Pereira has the power which can be lethal to Izzy in the fight.
“I think the Izzy of today is very different than the Izzy that fought Pereira twice. Both fighters he’s different now, he’s better, he’s way better. The thing about that fight that’s so intriguing is that Izzy has the five-round experience, he’s got championship-level experience, he’s got big moment experience. He’s got all these things but Pereira’s got that power and everybody gets hit.” Said Joe Rogan.

Joe Rogan believes an upset by Alex Pereira against Israel Adesanya won’t affect Izzy’s legacy
Joe Rogan is a huge fan of Israel Adesanya and likes the way Izzy fights and dominates the whole division. However, Rogan as well as many other fight fans are not underestimating the threat that Alex Pereira is showing.
Pereira is a tough fighter and his recent fight with Sean Strickland proved how good his striking can be. Another major thing that makes Pereira difficult from others is his height and reach which is the same as Izzy. Most of the opponents Adesanya has fought all of them were shorter but with Pereira there will be no size disadvantage.
Rogan is also aware of the fact that, there is a possibility that Izzy might lose the fight however, according to Rogan it will not affect Izzy’s legacy.
“No, he’s a human being,” Rogan said “You can’t take away from what he’s done because what he’s done is spectacular,” Rogan said. “I mean, look at what he did to Paulo Costa. Paulo Costa was running through everybody, he walked down Yoel Romero. And Izzy just lit him on fire. Just lit them on fire. He never even had a chance in that fight. He was just getting outclassed.”
Rightly so, Israel Adesanya has nothing to proof to the MMA world. However, avenging against Alex Pereira would be a an experience worth remembering for Izzy.
