Joe Rogan was not in the commentary booth at UFC 297. However, he did a Fight Companion on his YouTube channel. Brendan Schaub, Eddie Bravo, and Joey Diaz joined Rogan for the stream. Diaz was also a recent guest on Joe Rogan Experience.

On the UFC 297 fight companion live stream, Rogan pressurized Diaz to take a whiff of smelling salts. Rogan had a disastrous experience when he whiffed it for the first time. Initially, Diaz did not want to do it. However, Rogan, along with Schaub, pressured Diaz to whiff it. After the whiff, Diaz was visibly uncomfortable. Rogan had a hilarious reaction to Diaz’s discomfort. After he did it, Diaz tried to make Bravo whiff the salts but to no avail.

All four at the watch party felt that Sean Strickland won at UFC 297, three rounds to two. However, Rogan praised Dricus Du Plessis for the performance. Nonetheless, Du Plessis edged Strickland via split decision when Bruce Buffer announced the result. The fight was extremely close, and even UFC CEO Dana White thought Strickland won.
