In his discussion with reporters during the media day, Walker emphasized the need for Ankalaev to be more vocal and show more emotion. He said people must notice him, but Ankalaev was too quiet, reserved, and spoke poorly. Walker said that his opponent simply needs to exhibit a bit more personality to generate interest in his fights.


Walker also commended Ankalaev’s abilities, describing him as “an extremely dangerous fighter.” He mentioned that Ankalaev holds the second position in the division, making him the second-most formidable fighter in the weight class. Walker contemplated the possibility of someone defeating Ankalaev, suggesting that such a victory would position the winner for a title shot.
