Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier had one of the most intense rivalries in the UFC. Both Jones and Cormier are among the most accomplished fighters in the UFC. Cormier became a simultaneous double champion and even defended both belts in the same calendar year. Jones vacated his light heavyweight title, took a hiatus, and came back to win the heavyweight title after three years.

The UFC is facing a class action lawsuit at present. Recently, the judge presiding over the case made many of the documents and messages of the UFC public. This included private messages of the UFC brass. Recently, a message between Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta made headlines. White referenced Jones as a ‘scumbag‘ in the conversation. Daniel Cormier discussed it on his YouTube show, Funky and the Champ. Jon Jones saw what Cormier had to say about it and responded with a tweet. This is what he tweeted.

Never let a “bad employee” beat you up and take everything from you twice. It’ll leave you bitter for a really long time evidently.

Jones particularly did not like Cormier’s reference to Jones as a ‘bad employee,’ which prompted him to respond. Cormier and Jones have fought twice in the octagon. Jones handed Cormier his first defeat in their first fight. He also won the second fight, but he tested positive for a banned substance, and thus the result changed to a No-Contest.

Jon Jones recently underwent elbow surgery after he injured himself in training. That forced him out of his scheduled bout with Stipe Miocic at UFC 295. However, the UFC promised Jones and Miocic to rebook the fight upon Jones’ return from injury.

In the words of the late Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, Jon Jones is the most talented fighter ever. However, his troubles outside the cage caused a dent in his reputation. Many believe him to be the greatest MMA fighter ever. However, others point out his troubles, like doping violations, felonies, and substance abuse, as reasons to dent his greatness.

Jones employed dynamic techniques inside the cage during his light heavyweight title reign. As a very tall fighter in the division, he used his elbows and knees to full effect. He even popularised the dangerous oblique kick. Except for Daniel Cormier, no fighter has been the same since they fought Jones. Recently, Jones revealed that he had bone chips and bone spurs on his left arm.

Jones later found out that it was due to him elbowing his opponents from his doctor. He had used the spinning elbow and normal elbow techniques on his opponents a plethora of times. Jones also revealed that the UFC offered him a fight at UFC 300, but he won’t fight there as it did not align with his recovery after surgery.
