“UFC has been in dialogue with Jon Jones’ team about fighting in the main event on Dec. 10, sources say. I’m told Jones wants in,” wrote Helwani in his recent tweet. Though nothing has been confirmed, it is more likely we see “Bones” fight the former heavyweight champion than see him in the octagon against reigning champ, Francis Ngannou.

The legendary heavyweight has been the favorite to fight Jones on his return for quite some time now. Miocic has not stepped into the octagon ever since his loss against Francis Ngannou in a title fight. After more than a year of being sidelined by the UFC, Miocic is finally offered a fight by the promotion.

According to Ariel Helwani‘s report, the promotion will make Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic the headliner for the upcoming UFC 282 pay-per-view event. In the case this not happening, the recently announced Jiri Prochazka vs Glover Teixeira fight will act as the main event.
