“Slap him back 100 TIMES IN 1 MINUTE” – Khamzat Chimaev plans to ‘Chechen Slap’ Nate Diaz at UFC 279

Khamzat Chimaev and Nate Diaz

Khamzat Chimaev is a scary man. He already has all the tools a fighter needs to ace inside the octagon. The Chechen is now planning to add the iconic “Stockton Slap” to his arsenal during his fight against Nate Diaz at UFC 279.

The Diaz brothers’ iconic “Stockton Slap” has a separate fanbase. Both, Nick and Nate Diaz made it cool to slap an opponent during a mixed martial arts fight. There are few things more “gangster” than a Diaz brother slapping his opponent during an intense UFC fight and Chimaev doing the signature slap might just be the next best thing.

We are only days away before we get to see the return of superstar fighter, Nate Diaz inside the UFC octagon. Diaz has never backed out from a tough fight and his upcoming fight against rising welterweight star, Khamzat “Borz” Chimaev is a testament to that.

Nate, however, watches how he fights, because Khamzat is ready to counter the iconic Stockton Slap. Chimaev in a recent ESPN interview revealed how he would respond to Nate’s signature move and there are not a lot of things scarier than a monster like Chimaev slapping you inside the octagon.

In the ESPN MMA interview ahead of UFC 279 with Brett Okamoto, Khamzat revealed his plan of action to get slapped by Diaz. “I’ll slap back. What else are you gonna do?” Khamzat said with a peal of evil laughter. Chimaev believes it is very possible that Nate Stockton slaps him in the first 30 seconds of their fight.

Nate and Khamzat will be fighting for five rounds in a non-title, main event bout. “It can happen, everything. Maybe I could do a record with the slaps, you know? Take him down and slap slap slap, 100 slaps in one minute,” hilariously said Khamzat during the interview.

This is Khamzat’s first-ever main event fight and he is only five fights into the UFC. He and Diaz will headline the upcoming pay-per-view event which takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada on 10th September. Don’t forget to tune in. Maybe we get to see a “slap-off” between the two superstars.
