Every UFC fan loves to hear Bruce Buffer saying ‘IT’S TIMEE’ at the top of his lungs before each and every UFC pay-per-view event. But the story behind Bruce Buffer getting into UFC is even more amazing. Bruce Buffer is the younger brother of iconic boxing announcer, Michael Buffer.

Both of them have a great story on how they met each other after 29 years and started making their fortune in the fight business. During one of his interviews in the podcast, Hotboxin‘ with Mike Tyson, Michael Buffer explained how he promoted Bruce to get into UFC.

He said: “I got the job with this thing called UFC. But at the same time, I had a great deal with WCW Wrestling.”  Michael then revealed due to his contract with WCW he had no other option but to give up on UFC. However, this made way for Bruce to take his place in the promotion as the announcer.

So Bruce occasionally would do an undercard for me and he really was, he had those pipes and everything. Bruce’s actually trained in MMA, he’s really knowledgeable and all so he said ‘Would you mind if I like to try to get my foot in the door’. I said ‘Man, you know I’m behind you go for it. And that’s how he got into UFC and now he’s a superstar,” said Michael. to Mike 

It is safe to say both brothers took great career decisions and helped each to grow even more. Their legacy goes way back and nobody can replace it.

Bruce Buffer wants to continue announcing fighter’s introductions for another 25 years in the UFC

Bruce Buffer got into UFC in 1996 and since then has been announced in numerous UFC events. Buffer is single-handedly responsible for making fight introductions in UFC energetic and thrilling for the fight fans. Last year, Buffer completed his 25 years in UFC and the 65-year-old is still interested to work for another 25 years. 

It feels amazing because like this is a huge honour for me,” Buffer said in an interview. “You know how passionate I’m for being the voice of the octagon. Working for Dana. My passion just keeps getting stronger. I wish I had another 25 years.”

When Buffer announces his retirement from UFC, it is definitely going to be an extremely unfortunate day for the sport and the fight fans. But until then, fans should just enjoy and appreciate his legacy.
