Daniel Cormier talks about Tom Aspinall becoming the UFC heavyweight champion

Daniel Cormier advocated for Tom Aspinall’s promotion to the undisputed UFC heavyweight champion. Tom Aspinall is the interim UFC Heavyweight Champion. He achieved this title with a first-round TKO victory over Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 295.

The interim championship status implies that Aspinall holds the title temporarily. There may be a future bout to determine the undisputed champion in the heavyweight division. Aspinall boasts an MMA record of 14 wins and three losses. He expressed interest in a UFC 300 clash with Stipe Miocic and emphasized the importance of facing Jon Jones for his legacy.

However, Cormier asserted that Aspinall deserved the elevated status from interim champion to undisputed champion. With Jon Jones sidelined, Aspinall stepped in on short notice for the interim heavyweight championship, and Cormier contended that his performance warranted the upgrade to undisputed champion status.
