Rockhold’s last fight was a light heavyweight match-up against former champion Jan Błachowicz which Rockhold lost via KO. Rockhold has not experienced an MMA win since 2017 and is desperate to win against Paulo Costa.

Costa, on the other hand, is in a bad spot and has lost two of his last UFC bouts. However, the Brazilian wants to redeem himself and is confident about Saturday.

The fighter mentioned that this time he is going to take his time and let his opponent come forward and take advantage. He said:

“Like last night, everyone’s like, ‘Oh, Chito’s a slow starter, you know?’ Champions start slow. Champions read, they assess and they attack. I’ve been on both sides of the fence where I’ve been that guy and just been uber confident in myself and just, ‘I wanna see what you got. Give me what you got, I’m gonna take it and I’m gonna use it against you.’ And then I’ve been on the other side, where I’ve been like, ‘Oh I need to impose my will’ and I’ve been doing it for the wrong reasons.”

Rockhold is actually looking in great shape and the proper mindset before going inside the cage with Costa. Other than that, with Costa’s bad form, Rockhold has a chance to get a win at UFC 278.
