Leon Edwards successfully cemented himself as one of the best UFC welterweights in recent times after defending his title against Kamaru Usman at UFC 286. The rematch was the result of the first title fight in which Edwards knocked out Usman and with this second win, the rivalry finally ended.
Edwards’s story is nothing less than a movie script and the fighter has been through everything to become what he is today. Coming from Jamaica to London and then making his way to the top, Edwards is a true inspiration for many. On this auspicious occasion, another Jamaican great, Usain Bolt, made sure to congratulate Edwards on the win. On top of that, the legendary sprinter didn’t hold back against ESPN for not showing the Jamaican flag on Edwards’ winning poster on Instagram.
He wrote: “Don’t watch the flag a Jamaica to the world. Anything is possible don’t think of limits. @leonedwardsmma let’s gooooo!!
Bolt has been a great supporter of Edwards and has shown his affection toward the fighter in the past. Coming from one of the most successful Olympic athletes of all time, it must be an amazing moment for Edwards.

Leon Edwards is reigning as the UFC welterweight champion for as long as possible
Leon Edwards initially shocked and now silenced his critics as he remained the UFC welterweight champion at UFC 286. Now that Edwards is the welterweight king, he plans to be there for some time now.
In an interview with BT Sports after the fight, Edwards mentioned that it’s his era and at the age of 31, he’s just developing into a better fighter every day.
He said: “It is my era. Like I said, I believe that Kamaru is the toughest in the division. I’m going forward, I’m the champ and I rule for a long time now. I’m only getting better, I’m 31 years old…I can achieve greatness.”
Leon is a people’s champion and fans have moved his journey from nobody to the best in the world. With all that attention and charisma, Edwards definitely can be a new poster boy for UFC.
