Marvin Vettori calls out Robert Whittaker to fight in Paris
Robert Whittaker responded to the call out by Marvin Vettori to fight him. Both fighters were supposed to fight at UFC 275 however, the fight was canceled when Whittaker pulled out because of an injury. Both fighters are now looking to fight again in September as Robert Whittaker heals from his injury. UFC is traveling to France for its first event in the country after it legalized MMA in 2020.
MMA was banned in France in 2016, and France was one of the last major countries without legalized MMA. However, France recognized MMA in 2020 and since then UFC has been planning to hold an event in France. UFC could not hold an event in France because of covid-19 restrictions but it is all prepared to hold a major event in Paris, France. Other fighting promotions, such as Bellator, have already reached France and are regularly planning events in France.
Ciryl Gane vs Tai Tuivasa is expected to be the Main Fight on the UFC France debut. However, no official Fight Card has been released by the UFC. As nothing is confirmed yet, Marvin has called out Robert Whittaker for a fight in France. Robert earlier stated that the injury would not take long to heal and he can return to the octagon in September for the France event.
However, Marvin was not ready to wait that long, and he called out other fighters like Darren Till and Khamzat Chimaev to fight him. With no fight confirmed, Marvin has again called out Rober to fight in France.
Marvin Tweeted: “Alright so I guess since can’t find an opponent any earlier I’m fighting Whittaker in Paris. You better show the fuck up this time. Lets do it, I’ve been waiting for too long now”
