Tom Aspinall is one of the top contenders in the UFC heavyweight division. Being in the heaviest and most powerful weight class, he packs some power in his punches. Aspinall once displayed that on a punching machine and here is what happened:
Back in 2023, English heavyweight Tom Aspinall showed off his power on the talkSPORT punch machine. Aspinall delivered a powerful right hook and scored 942 on the machine. Aspinall is 6′ 5″ and weighs 262lbs. He is the interim title holder of the UFC heavyweight division.

Jones delivered a straight punch and scored a decent 519. He tried his hand again and this time scored just 444. However, it must be noted that Jones was way lighter back then and nowhere near the heavyweight category. He now weighs 248 pounds and is the current UFC heavyweight champion after he made the transition from the light-heavyweight division.
Tom Aspinall expressed interest in fighting Jon Jones, claiming he deserves the bout over Stipe Miocic. He criticized Jones, suggesting he was avoiding tougher fights for bigger paychecks. Aspinall even advocated for stripping Jones of his UFC heavyweight title. However, Jones made it clear that the fight would not happen anytime soon.
Tom Aspinall is no longer interested in fighting Jon Jones
Tom Aspinall is ready to move on from pursuing Jon Jones and return to the octagon. Aspinall is eager to return to fighting rather than wait for Jones to fight Stipe Miocic and then take on the victor.

Aspinall has several options for a next opponent, including the winner of Blaydes vs. Almeida, and a potential showdown with Ciryl Gane. Aspinall had previously dismissed Gane’s callout after his win at UFC 295. He emphasized that a fight with Gane was not on his immediate agenda following his victory at UFC Paris. Gane had previously declined to fight Aspinall when he called him out back in 2023.
Reportedly, Stipe Miocic declined a fight at UFC 300, preferring to face Jon Jones upon his return from injury. Aspinall later confirmed Miocic’s refusal to fight him at UFC 300. It will be interesting to see who Aspinall takes on next in the UFC octagon.
