No matter the choice, the combat sports bubble does veer towards hypotheticals at one point or another. They can be about who should headline UFC 300. They can also be about viral gym sparring sessions that can get fight fans pondering and strength scaling. Such two names, now into the mix, are Alex Pereira and Hasbulla.

Hasbulla Magomedovich Magomedov is a renowned Russian social media phenom. His continued association with high-profile MMA fighters in the past is well documented, with the likes of Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev. But a skit with ‘Poatan’ is new. A viral IG video (by @Alphafightseries) shows the Brazilian calling out Hasbulla to the night’s ‘Alpha Fight Series‘ event.

The footage shows the duo prepping and shadow sparring, as they head off for the face-to-face. Pereira is even visible along with longtime coach and cornerman, Glover Teixeira, to whom he hands over his title gold. From Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic to Leon Edwards–Sean Strickland; there are a lot of fight booking ideas for 2024 that MMA pundits and enthusiasts would not consider. But this one takes the cake.

However, in a weird twist of events, the bizarre mismatch of a 3-foot sensation and 205lber excites fans. A prime reaction on X read – “Dana can’t top this with a lame UFC 300 announcement lol.” From Floyd Mayweather’s two-year-old grandson Kentrell Gaulden Jr. to the ward of Conor McGregor, Hasbulla gets pitted against a lot of hypotheticals. But Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira is a whole other game; fight fans have reacted to it as such.

Former two-division GLORY kickboxing and light heavyweight champ, Alex Pereira is quite the reckoning force. Even heavyweight peer, Tom Aspinall once lauded his aura, despite being a weight class above the kickboxer. Pereira also competed as a 1-0 cruiserweight amateur boxer, with a TKO win with Marcelo de Souza Cruz.

He touts his heavy sticking and ‘Rabona’ kick-checks whenever possible. Boasting a high battle IQ, Pereira does, however, engage in gags and sketches with the likes of Glover Teixeria and Daniel Cormier. Meanwhile, internet sensation Hasbulla boasts a similarly powerful streak of draw-power amongst netizens.

Combat Sports promotion Alpha Fight Series is hosting the ‘Australia vs. the world’ fight card in Dubai, UAE. Promoting the event, Alex Pereira is seen in an IG reel calling out ‘Mini Khabib’ in an unexpected telephone conversation.

Fight fans have reacted vibrantly over this comedy gold. Some have pondered what would Hasbulla face if Pereira were to execute one of his famed leg-kicks. Others, however, have quipped about ‘Mini Khabib’ winning easily.

Concurrently, more keen-eyed fans have noted Pereira always being in official UFC merchandise; he recently went viral for touting a snap with only UFC Venum shorts on the road similarly. All in all, the video has had many comedic feedbacks.
