UFC’s newest signing happens to be multi-platform veteran Michael ‘Venom’ Page. With a fight moniker of ‘Venom‘, the unorthodox freestyle kickboxer (points fighting) and efficient Muay Thai striker boasts quite the style quotient. However, it remains unknown if Michael ‘Venom’ Page will live up to the hype in his debut at UFC 299. He meets similarly efficient striking phenom Kevin Holland at UFC 299 in Kaseya Arena in Miami, Florida.

Boasting a stout record, Page is confident he can duke it out with the veteran finisher Kevin Holland. Often considered the consensus knockout artist, the fighter of Bellator MMA fame has a unique and flashy disposition. ‘Venom’ often douses a slithering snake-like palm pose during staredowns. However, at UFC 299’s official weigh-ins, Holland traps his slithering grip with one of his own.

Meaning, he is ready to meet Page head-on! The varietal freestyle kickboxer and Karate legend sees himself as a more dangerous version of karate wonder Stephen Thompson. Michael Page said so himself in a sitdown with MMA Junkie‘s Mike Bohn. Conversely, speaking to ESPN MMA‘s Brett Okamoto, Holland nudged that people underestimate him due to his overt flashy style.

However, he is ready to meet his style quotient with that of his own. Not only did Kevin Holland not entertain the slithering predator. But he also gestured and one-shot the rival at the staredowns. Only time will tell if Holland’s predictions about the outcome hold.

Kevin Holland does not mind ‘catching a snake’, against Michael Page at UFC 299

UFC 299 (pay-per-view, ESPNews, ESPN+) main card at Kaseya Center in Miami welcomes an electric new addition. Veteran Michael ‘Venom’ Page debuts at the main card. He goes up against 25-10 MMA, 12-7 UFC veteran Kevin Holland.

Names like Geoff Neal, Stephen Thompson, and former P4P king Kamaru Usman have floated around to go up against Page. The Englishman himself entertained the possibility of facing the current welterweight champ Leon Edwards in an all-Brit affair.

Hence, it is safe to say Michael Page holds quite the stature even before he makes his mark within the promotion. Holland knows that fully and prepares as such. He is not backing away from hunting a snake in ‘Venom‘.

Speaking at the UFC 299 Fight Week Media Day presser, he said –

When I was fighting some of these other guys from different places, they tend to come pretty hard. But I’ve kind of got a good relationship with everybody...I think they know this boy’s been living in Texas for a long time and he shouldn’t have a problem catching a snake...I was a fan of his before he signed...I watched him before, yeah. I’m a fan of his work – yeah, definitely.

While he has lauded Page, the fighter remains sure of his mettle to get the job done. While he has no intention of snubbing the opponent-to-be out of his hype train, he has his own going as the knockout artist. Which he aims to fully utilize, come this weekend.
