Tom Aspinall emotional after winning POTN bonus
Tom Aspinall scored a stunning win over Sergey Spivak in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 36. The man from Manchester needed just over 2 minutes in the first round to knock out the Moldovan (Via elbow and punches). With that win, Aspinall took his win streak to 7 and maintained his unbeaten record in the UFC (4 wins).
The win earned Tom Aspinall the Performance of the Night bonus. A recent backstage video released by the UFC showed Aspinall getting to know that he won the POTN bonus. On learning the same, he can be seen jumping in joy before breaking down in tears, even as his coach comes and consoles him.
Tom Aspinall already has three Performance of The Night bonuses to his name
This was not Aspinall’s first Performance of The Night bonus. He has already won the same two times. Of his 4 fights in the UFC, he has managed to win the POTN bonus thrice. Impressive. He first won the bonus after beating Jake Collier (on debut) at UFC Fight Night: Whittaker vs Till in 2020.
Despite scoring a first-round knockout win over Alan Baudot in October 2020, Aspinall did not win the POTN bonus. A bit harsh. Had he won that, he would have had a 100% POTN bonus record. The Brit continued his impressive performance with yet another stunning win, this time over Andrei Arlovski at UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs Lewis, earning a second POTN bonus.

Aspinall is currently ranked number 13 in the heavyweight division. He has never been knocked out in his MMA career, and looks to be a serious threat in the promotion.
