Hailing from England, Thomas Paul Aspinall has made a name for himself as a professional mixed martial artist. Tom Aspinall has had only three losses in his entire career. Currently, he competes in the highly competitive Heavyweight division within the UFC and holds the impressive #4 spot in the UFC heavyweight rankings.

Aspinall’s foray into the world of combat sports began at the tender age of seven when he stepped into the Leigh Self-Defence Studio in Greater Manchester. At this early stage, he embarked on his martial arts adventure, initially immersing himself in the art of jiu-jitsu. As his journey progressed, he expanded his skill set by incorporating wrestling and boxing into his training regimen, subsequently making a transition towards Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

After a hiatus of 2.5 years from professional mixed martial arts, Aspinall signed a five-fight contract with Cage Warriors. Notably, he had previously been offered a contract by the UFC. However, at that point, he felt unprepared for the elite organization and initially declined the offer. His decision, though, did not hinder his progress.

Tom Aspinall’s remarkable performances in Cage Warriors eventually captured the attention of the UFC, and he finally made his promotional debut on July 25, 2020, at UFC on ESPN 14. Initially scheduled to fight Raphael Pessoa, his opponent switched to Jake Collier due to an injury. Regardless, Aspinall demonstrated his prowess by securing a memorable victory via technical knockout in the first round. This earned him the coveted Performance of the Night award.
