Update on The Rock’s Whereabouts for the WrestleMania 42 Weekend
The Rock was in Las Vegas this Thursday but has flown out to be home with his youngest daughter for her eighth birthday.

The Rock was in Las Vegas on Thursday for CinemaCon, acting as a presenter for Disney. He spoke about his upcoming live-action Moana movie at length. ‘The Great One’ also revealed that his youngest daughter Tia will turn 8 on Friday. He wished her and told her that he was coming home last night. That means Rock has already flown out of Vegas, the site of this year’s WrestleMania.
Does that entirely rule out his potential appearance at the Show of Shows? Probably not, but the fans are keeping their hopes in check this time around. The WWE Universe was and pretty much still is disgruntled with ‘The Final Boss’ ditching the John Cena heel-turn storyline after helping orchestrate it last year.

Not sure you should expect him in a WWE ring this weekend! pic.twitter.com/UM0YCgAdum
The real reason behind Rock evaporating in thin air and not following up on turning Cena heel against Cody Rhodes is still unknown. Some fans and wrestling pundits argued that the Hollywood mogul might’ve had a fallout with WWE and would’ve not been able to agree to terms with his creative direction in the story. But again, these are all speculative grounds unless confirmed by those who were actually involved.

Rock said on Pat McAfee‘s show immediately after WrestleMania 41 that he wanted Cena to have the spotlight when asked why he didn’t get his hands dirty in the finish to his showdown with Rhodes. Circling back to the odds of Rock showing up at WrestleMania this weekend, they’re quite slim. He hasn’t made a single WWE TV appearance since last year’s Elimination Chamber.
The company would’ve surely advertised him for WrestleMania if he were to make the show, especially considering how WrestleMania has struggled with selling tickets. However, with the never-say-never adage prevalent in pro wrestling, who knows if The Rock shocks everyone by invading the Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk main event on Sunday? That’s quite a stretch, but some on the internet are running with it.
Could The Rock help CM Punk against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania?
It was reported a while ago that the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia will offer ‘The People’s Champ’ the biggest deal ever made to anyone for being involved in a pro wrestling event. The Rock was demanded by the GEA officials for WrestleMania 43, which is slated to be held in Riyadh.
It’s been seen by many as the last realistic opportunity to get done with the ever-longing dream match pitting the Black Adam star in a WWE ring against his cousin, Roman Reigns.

If that’s locked down internally, WWE would want to promote it as the biggest deal ever. What if The Rock shockingly helps Punk beat Reigns at WrestleMania this weekend? The Anoa’i family wrestlers could then meet on Raw after WrestleMania and agree to have a match at next year’s WrestleMania with it being announced a year in advance just like it happened with The Rock vs. John Cena after ‘The Great One’ attacked Cena in the closing moments of WrestleMania 27.
This might be the way to go about things if Rock has already given WWE his word about wrestling Reigns. However, given the ironclad filming schedule of the former 10-time world champion, it’s hard to fathom that The Rock would make any such commitment. Moreover, the Smashing Machine actor is currently scheduled to film at least a couple of movies next year.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is set to film at least two movies in 2026 with release dates in 2027-28.

They are both major productions, Fast Forever, and the other is a Martin Scorsese film with Leonardo DiCaprio and Emily Blunt, barring any delays on the current Scorsese project.… pic.twitter.com/g234fVNXrh
They include ‘Fast Forever’ which is the next installment in the Fast & Furious franchise and the other one being his untitled Martin Scorsese project with Leonardo DiCaprio and Emily Blunt as other lead cast members. With so much on the plate, it doesn’t look like he’ll get much time off the sets to risk his investment and wrestle for WWE.
