In Short
  • WWE is negotiating with Nashville to host WrestleMania 44 in 2028.
  • Attendance for WrestleMania in Las Vegas dropped significantly due to repeat events and price gouging.
  • An official announcement regarding the Nashville venue is expected soon, with plans for the new Nissan Stadium.

While WWE will take WrestleMania overseas next year to Saudi Arabia, it’s already in advanced talks about locking down the venue for its biggest show of the year in 2028. As per WrestleVotes Radio via Fightful Select, the company is in active negotiations with the city of Nashville regarding bringing WrestleMania there in almost a couple of years’ time.

WWE stayed back in Las Vegas for the second consecutive year in 2026 for WrestleMania, and it subsequently sabotaged the event’s attendance figures. The repeat business in Sin City pulled in 106,072 fans over two nights, which was significantly down from its predecessor of 118,641.

The price gouging also played a key role in keeping more fans from experiencing Mania in person. It doesn’t look like the company will return to Vegas for a WrestleMania in the near future. Also, as mentioned above, the city of Nashville is the frontrunner to attain the hosting rights for wrestling’s greatest spectacle in 2028.

The above-stated report also noted that an official announcement on it is expected soon given the strength of the ongoing talks. Moreover, if a deal is indeed closed, which is the most likely outcome as sources in the city are claiming that they’re at the finish line, WWE would use the brand-new Nissan Stadium for WrestleMania 44.

It’d open next year and will serve as the home to the Tennessee Titans in the NFL. Apart from this, Brandon Thurston and Jack Wannan posted an update on Post Wrestling in which they wrote that the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corporation has confirmed to the outlet that it is making efforts to secure WrestleMania.

A communications rep for the said agency revealed that they’re working on a future date with WWE. The Stamford-based promotion has had a verbal agreement to stage WrestleMania in Nashville for years now.

A November 2022 article in the Nashville Post said that the pro wrestling juggernaut had tentatively agreed to bring WrestleMania there pending the construction of an enclosed stadium, which is planned for a 2027 inauguration.

Jalen Brunson reacts to Roman Reigns winning his 7th world title at WrestleMania 42

This year’s WrestleMania witnessed Roman Reigns beat CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Title in an all-time classic. Those men left their all in that ring and delivered on its billing of one of the greatest WrestleMania main events. That being said, Jalen Brunson was asked about it following the Knicks‘ dominating win over the Hawks in Game 6 of their first-round playoff series.

It brought a smile on Brunson’s face, and he wanted to be asked more such questions, being a fan of wrestling. The 3-time NBA all-star revealed being very excited about Reigns winning the world title and reuniting with his cousins, The Usos.

Brunson said that they acknowledge Reigns before their games. His on-court rival and, otherwise, fast friend Tyrese Haliburton was in attendance at WrestleMania 42, and he was spotted putting his ones to the sky during The OTC’s epic entrance.

The trust that WWE placed on Reigns paid dividends to the company. The officials must’ve been in a spot of bother owing to a poorly-received night one of WrestleMania, especially its main event between Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes being criticized for Pat McAfee‘s shenanigans resulting in Orton’s loss.

WWE couldn’t have afforded such a farce on Sunday, and the onus was on Reigns and Punk to create magic. Being the masters at work that they are, they showed the rest of the locker room how it’s done. The wrestling timeline kept raving about it for days, and it’s now etched in the good books of wrestling fans forever.
