One can only imagine what’s going through Vince McMahon‘s mind as he nears his 80s. Yesterday, Sportico noted that his remaining shares in TKO, viz., 8.02 million, were worth $776 million based on its closing market price of $96.76 on Friday. The report further adds that TKO filed a prospectus, evincing that Mr. McMahon may sell what accounts for less than 5% of his shareholding in TKO.

The move would allow Vince to cut ties with WWE, an empire he ruled for over five decades. As per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, McMahon’s goal is to clear his name and legacy before he embarks on a new venture. He’s seemingly making amends so that whatever business he ends up in, people don’t hesitate to join forces with him.

Last year, post-WrestleMania 39, when WWE and the UFC merged under the TKO umbrella, McMahon was made its execution chairman. However, almost a year removed from that juncture, the 78-year-old seems to be exiting the conglomerate. Back in January, one of his former employees, Janel Grant, filed a lawsuit against him, citing physical abuse and trafficking.

The plaintiff’s complaint had ripple effects, as it even forced Vinnie Mac to resign from his office at TKO. Recently, two of WWE’s biggest names, John Cena and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, caught the ire of the fans for reportedly maintaining a relationship with the WWE founder despite his public standing.

Recently, it was also reported that McMahon had been enjoying vacations while maintaining contact with former US President Donald Trump. Vince’s daughter, Stephanie McMahon, returned to WWE at WrestleMania this year. Though, in hindsight, it appears to be a one-off appearance.

Vince McMahon has an answer to Janel Grant’s lawsuit

Earlier this week, a team of lawyers backed by Vince McMahon filed a response to Ms. Janel Grant disputing her claims in a 29-page document. At first, the defendant denied the plaintiff’s defamatory remarks, calling her charges of coercion on McMahon pure fiction.

They were in a consensual relationship, as deduced from the court filing. The former WWE Chairman also claimed that Grant used to live in the same condo as his, along with her fiancé, Brian Goncalves.

And she’d used to visit Vince as early as 2:30 in the morning to pursue their relationship. Janel’s lawyer, Ann Callis, refuted everything McMahon came up with. She even called out the notorious business tycoon for twisting the plot to fit his shameful narrative.
