Kyrie defended by Patrick Beverley and Kevin Durant laughing

Things got from being serious to being hilarious in the game between Los Angles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets. Kyrie Irving went one-on-one with Patrick Beverley in the second quarter. Amidst the hype of the crowd, when Irving made the move, he was fouled by Beverley. As the scene played in from of Nets superstar Kevin Durant, he found it so hilarious that he started to laugh on the bench.

With over six minutes remaining on the clock in the second quarter, Irving received the ball from Royce O’Neale from the top of the key. Being defended by Beverley, the eight-time All-Star perhaps thought it was a good chance to teach the defensive star a lesson. Watching Irving in full mood to take on Pat Bev, the crowd went wild. The Nets’ guard moves like a rubber ball with a ball in hand, and he started to shake around his defender. However, being guarded by a player of Pat’s caliber is no joke. Unable to find a room to make his move, Uncle Drew started to dribble toward the basket from the left as the Laker player fouled him.

All that went down in a few seconds was apparently so funny to Kevin Durant. Perhaps Kevin knows what it’s like being defended by Beverley and wanted to humiliate him once again. Durant is out of the roster with an MCL injury and is due to return to his team after the All-Star game. The Nets defeated the Lakers 104-121.

When Kevin Durant singlehandedly humiliated Patrick Beverley and the entire Clippers

If there is one thing being a defensive player one should know; never poke a player of KD’s caliber. Beverley ignored this advice, which set off a series of events. Events, which led to one of the coldest news conference responses ever and a run of dominance in the 2019 playoffs. Kevin Durant made one of the coldest remarks ever. The media surrounded him to grill him about Patrick Beverley and the Clippers‘ defensive strategy. A day before the game, KD sent out a warning to Clipper’s and Beverley. Perhaps, they should have known better.

Beverley is infamous for being an annoyance and a pain on defense. It was his performance in game two of that series that helped the Clippers win. Durant, being Kevin Durant, didn’t think it was anything to be concerned about. By the way, he made this statement directly in the interview before snatching the soul out of Beverley and the Clippers in the next game. “I’m not going to get in the way of the game because I want to have a back-and-forth with Patrick Beverley. I’m Kevin Durant. You know who I am. Y’all know who I am,” Durant had warned.
