“I’ve had a lot of challenges” – Serena Williams
During the interview with Forbes, the interviewer posed an audience question to Serena Williams: What was the biggest challenge you’ve ever overcome? To this, Serena replied “The biggest challenge I’ve ever faced? Wow. I’ve had a lot of challenges, you know. I feel like there is some challenge that is presented to you, and you are meant to fail it, but you have to overcome it, and you can’t let any challenge, you know, be too much for you. Um, I had so many challenges, I can’t even begin to tell you. But just the whole pregnancy was a whole challenge for me. Just to come back and play after that was like… I didn’t realize it was a challenge until looking back a year ago, and I was like ‘I probably shouldn’t have been playing. But I did it, and it was a hit [audience chime in] yeah! And it was an incredible challenge”
She further added “I think we all are faced with challenges every single day, but it’s just how you look at them. I was reading something on Instagram earlier today and it really was kind of motivating. It was like ‘Is that the best you have become I can take way more.”
