In a standout qualifying session at the Las Vegas GP, American rookie Logan Sargeant secured the seventh grid position for Williams, a notable achievement given the team’s recent challenges. NFL superstar Tom Brady, unable to attend but expressing support in a video, added to the excitement. Sargeant’s performance, coupled with Brady’s encouragement, sets the stage for an intriguing race.
Sargeant showcased a remarkable performance for Williams, securing the seventh grid position, a noteworthy achievement in his burgeoning F1 career. Elevated to sixth due to Carlos Sainz‘s penalty, Sargeant’s success is amplified by the team’s challenging circumstances. His robust qualifying display sparks anticipation for a competitive race, heightening expectations for a valuable points finish.
The Williams FW45, renowned for its slipperiness on straights and agility on low-downforce tracks, achieved its best qualifying outcome since 2016 on a track that bodes well. Although Sargeant still trails his teammate, this performance narrows the gap significantly, marking a notable improvement over previous outings. After a strong qualifying, Tom Brady praised compatriot Sargeant, expressing regret for missing the event but promising steadfast support.
